A New Year

Hi, everyone. I finished the book at the end of November. My office wasn’t completed until mid December, but it came out very well. I was exhausted, but there was no time to rest with Christmas upon me and my sister and her family arriving. To top things off, I had stomach pain that wouldn’t go away. I was convinced I’d torn a stomach muscle. On my birthday, the 21st December, we went out for Chinese, but I was in so much pain that we had to go home early. That evening was the annual street party, but I couldn’t attend. By Monday morning I was in the Doc’s. He sent me for a scan and then rang that evening to tell me to go to hospital and have my appendix removed. I panicked as my sister’s husband and daughter were on a plane landing at the airport right at that moment.  People my age don’t have appendicitis attacks! Apparently we do. I begged the doctor for some antibiotics to get me through Christmas and promised I’d go to hospital on Boxing day (26th)  This I did and I had my appendix removed that evening. I came home the next day, a bit sore and sorry. But hey, I’d cooked Christmas dinner for ten, and it was delicious, if I say so myself.
